Lone Star is now Operations Border Health Preparedness

The mission formerly known as Operation Lone Star is transitioning to a new name, Operation Border Health Preparedness (OBHP). This operation has been a mission the Texas State Guard has been actively participating in for decades. It involves providing free medical, dental, and vision services to the community. The intent of Operation Border Health Preparedness is to consistently provide these services to the people of Texas so that in the event of a emergency or natural disaster, the troops are accustomed to providing these services on a large scale.

The agencies involved in the yearly operation include local county, city health departments, medical university schools, human service organizations, Texas State Guard, out-of-state agencies, and volunteer groups.
