Over the weekend a series of severe storms devastated both Alabama and Georgia, it inflicted such havoc there was loss of life throughout the states. With wind gusts exceeding 60mph and multiple tornadoes wrecking damage throughout the state, Georgia quickly activated The National Guard and State Defense Force to respond.
The mission assigned to The Georgia State Defense Force is to clear debris off roads so vehicle traffic can resume. Georgia State Defense Force soldiers are utilizing chainsaws to remove downed trees that are obstructing roadways. This is a vital mission as it allows emergency services to respond to 911 calls and provides citizens the ability to reach shelters and recovery locations.
