Legislation Updates: California, Connecticut, Florida & Georgia State Defense Force

California: We have updated and added several pieces of legislation related to the California State Defense Force. Senate Bill 1335 was introduced to support the California Cadet Corps, while Senate Bill 2093 brought changes to the California College Promise fee waiver. Additionally, Assembly Bill 3290 focused on state-supported tuition benefits, and updates were made to Senate Bills 228 and 322 to further refine state defense policies and operations.

Connecticut: In Connecticut, we added House Bill 5287, which addresses license plate fees for veterans and members of the State Defense Force.

Florida: Florida’s State Defense Force legislation has been bolstered with the introduction of several bills. House Resolution 8027 pertains to the establishment of Florida State Guard Day, while Senate Bill 7058 and House Bill 1551 introduced mandatory fingerprinting for State Guard members. Senate Bill 1694 further defined terms and established rules for the State Guard, ensuring comprehensive regulation and oversight.

Georgia: In Georgia, new legislation has been introduced to support State Defense Force members. House Bill 898 provides tax credits for those who serve, offering financial relief and incentives. Additionally, House Bill 879 ensures that members receive per diem pay for their service, recognizing their contributions to the state’s defense efforts.
