The Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) was recently featured in the National Guard newsmagazine where it highlighted a few missions of the force. A few of the operations the Texas State Guard participated in are Operation Drawbridge and the Governors Local Border Security Program. Both programs work to assist the U.S. Customs & Border Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard, Texas Department of Public Safety, as well as local law enforcement with detecting and deterring criminal exploitation’s along the Texas-Mexico Border. The Texas State Guard provides support to these agencies by providing communication, intelligence and maritime support.
