Major General Woods explains that securing this support begins with State Defense Force leaders building strong, ongoing relationships with their state lawmakers. By educating legislators about their force’s missions, capabilities, challenges, and value to the state, leaders can help build the understanding and political support needed to obtain funding for personnel, administration, training, and future activations.
