New York Guard doing their part during the outbreak

The New York Guard (State Defense Force) has been on active duty for weeks supporting and assisting the National Guard in a multitude of missions.  Currently the force has fielded seventy five troops on paid State Active Duty (SAD) to assist in logistics and operations assistance.

The New York Guard currently has 75 service members on paid state active duty supporting National Guard efforts throughout the state, where they are providing logistics and operations assistance supporting the New York National Guard and NY State multi-agency response to COVID-19.

The New York Guard is a state volunteer force which augments and supports the New York National Guard with manpower and skills during State Emergencies and Domestic operations when called upon by the National Guard

NYG Soldiers cleaning all touchable surface with a bleach solution in accordance to guidelines provided by the CDC to the National Guard and those on State Active duty.
