Texas State Guard fulfills crucial role for National Guard

The Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) have been performing a multitude of missions since the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic.  They have been assisting and augmenting the National Guard in a multitude of roles, as well as assisting emergency services.  Here are a few snippets of State Guard troops in action:

 

“Equal to the task!” Texas State Guardsmen are playing crucial roles alongside National Guardsmen in the Texas Military Department’s COVID-19 response. In this photo, State Guardsman Pfc. George Dollaway contributes his expertise in warehouse operations while he trains National Guard Soldiers in the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s warehouse tracking software.

6th BDE TXSG soldiers PFC Patrick Mejia & PV2 Ricardo Espinoza provide logistical support to the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) in April during the COVID-19 response efforts in coordination with the Texas A&M Forest Service. Shipments of hand sanitizer donated by the Anheuser Busch corporation are confirmed and other needed items are loaded for distribution to Armories, Hospitals, Fire Houses, Counties, Schools, and other locations in need.
