The Connecticut Foot Guard (State Defense Force) provides the needed resources to ensure Memorial Day is celebrated properly in Connecticut each year.
Today, the First Company participated in Memorial Day ceremonies in Manchester and Simsbury. In Manchester, 1GFG Headquarters Company provided a small marching contingent. Simsbury was provided with music, a Color Guard, and a nine-person firing detail.
