The Georgia Army National Guard & State Defense Force recently held a National Night Out, a annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event featured the Army National Guard providing a tour to residents and kids of a Black Hawk helicopter.
A HH-60M Black Hawk from the Georgia Army National Guard (GAARNG) Charlie Company 1-111th General Support Aviation Brigade arrives for National Night Out, Jim R. Miller Park, Marietta, Ga., August 3, 2021.The GAARNG provided the Black Hawk during National Night Out in response to a request from Georgia State Defense Force (GSDF) Sgt. 1st Class Ken Torkelson. Sgt. 1st Class Torkelson and other GSDF Soldiers greeted the aircraft upon touchdown.National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. During the event, Soldiers promoted awareness of the GSDF and its service to communities across the state.
