In 2006, the 10th Medical Regiment of the Maryland Defense Force volunteered to join the Maryland Air National Guard in a overseas deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina for a Humanitarian & Medical Mission. It was one of the few deployments of State Defense Force troops overseas.
Do you believe the State Defense Forces / State Guards should have volunteer units composed of troops who have volunteered for overseas missions, to join and support their National Guard in international missions to provide assistance in support related tasks such as communications, logistics, supply, medical, legal, etc.?
– Yes, they should assist their National Guard in overseas missions
– No, they should remain stateside only
