Georgia State Defense Force (GSDF) Soldiers recently assisted the Lawrenceville Police Department and other local authorities in a search and rescue mission.
The GSDF offers its Soldiers search and rescue training. GSDF’s advanced search and rescue training is a physically demanding 6-month course. The course covers topics, such as evidence collection, tracking, and victim behavior, and develops skills in rappelling and other rescue-related techniques.
Local law enforcement involves the GSDF in numerous search and rescue missions throughout the year. This mission occurred in Gainesville, Ga., March 4, 2022.
