The Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) recently graduated 30 new recruits from Initial Entry Training (IET – Basic Training). State Defense Forces require all new troops to undergo IET if they have never served in the US Military. IET provides new recruits the basic foundations of the military, from drill & ceremony (DNC), physical training, land navigation, etc. The Texas State Guard also has their recruits undergo obstacle courses to ensure they are physically and mentally prepared for any missions they maybe assigned to perform in the future. The training is held over multiple weekends for a multitude of months, once completed the troops depart for their home units and become fully part of the Texas State Guard.
