The Georgia State Defense Force Opposing Force (OPFOR) recently assisted the Georgia Army National Guards 121st Infantry Regiment during a training exercise in the mountains of north Georgia. Previous to the establishment of the Georgia State Defense Force OPFOR unit the Georgia Army National Guard had to use their own troops to serve as the opposing force during training exercises and decreased the amount of training every soldier received. With the GA SDF OPFOR unit the entire Army National Guard unit can train together and develop their skills as one.
HHC 1-121 Infantry conducted a training exercise in the mountains of north Georgia from 09-10 APR. The training included elements from the 1-121 Scouts & Snipers, medics, mortars, staff, and HHC HQ. The training incorporated TLPs, reconnaissance, mortar emplacement/displacement, navigation, call for fire, MEDEVAC, and command post operations.Thank you to the Georgia State Defense Force for providing realistic OPFOR for our training.
