The Virginia Defense Force recently trained with the Virginia Army National Guard on Virginia National Guard Provides Advanced Radio Equipment to VA Defense Force (JISCC). The Adjutant General assigned the Virginia Defense Force to assist the Army National Guard with providing emergency communication capabilities in the event of a natural disaster that disabled the traditional communication system (ie. Cell phone towers).
The Virginia has continuously trained on this equipment over the years to ensure they are ready to respond at a moments notice.
Virginia Defense Force personnel assigned to the Warrenton-based Echo Company, 11th Signal Battalion, 1st Regiment conduct training on the Joint Incident Site Communications Capability with the Virginia National Guard’s J6 Joint Communication Section June 4, 2022, at the VNG Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The JISCC provides an array of communications options including wireless and wired internet connectivity, radio connections for multiple frequencies, uplink to satellites, telephone service and many more communications capabilities.
