Troops from the Ohio Army National Guard and Ohio Military Reserve (State Defense Force & Naval Militia) recently participated in a Norwegian Military Qualification event. The event known as the Norwegian Foot March Badge Qualification required the troops to carry 25 pounds of weight for nearly 19 miles in under 4 hours and 30 min. The troops completed the challenge and were awarded the badge.
Congratulations to the OHSDF, OHMR, and OHARNG Soldiers who participated in the Norwegian Foot March Badge Qualification Event over Memorial Day Weekend. To qualify for the badge a soldier must carry 25 pounds of weight, not including water or food for 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) in under 4 hours and 30 minutes. In addition to the ruck march our soldiers raised a combined $600 dollars to support homeless veterans. Pictured LTC Lehman, MAJ Rosado, 2LT Souders, SGT Shea, SGT Toledo.
