The Adjutant General of Georgia, Major General Thomas M. Carden Jr., recently paid a visit to the Georgia State Defense Force troops stationed in Ellenwood, GA. The General thanked the service members for their service to the National Guard & Their State.
The Georgia State Defense Force assists and augments the Georgia National Guard in a multitude of mission, from their elite OPFOR (Opposing Force) unit, assisting at the Rifle Range during the National Guard units weapons qualification, and providing manpower for casualty extraction in the case of a Natural Disaster.
The Adjutant General is the Senior National Guard Commander of the State and reports directly to the Governor of the State of Georgia.
He had the following words for the troops:
