The Georgia State Defense Force recently held a Graduation Ceremony for their recent basic training graduates. Each and every State Defense Force holds an Initial Entry Program (Basic Training) program for new troops that dont have any prior US Military experience. This introduces the recruits to basic military skills such as Chain of Command, Drill & Ceremony, First Aid, Land Navigation, Military Law, etc. Upon graduation the new Soldiers return to their home units to continue their training and assist their National Guard.
Later in the ceremony they also held a graduation ceremony for the graduates of their ALC (Advanced Leader Course). The program is designed to prepare Sergeants (E5) for the duties of Staff Sergeant (E6). It challenges the troops to think critically, generate creative ideas, learn to solve complex problems, and understand mission command philosophy. Upon graduation the new NCO’s (Non-Commissioned Officers) can are able to train, lead, and conduct operations at a squad level.
