Numerous State Defense Forces / State Guards have over the years been assisting their National Guard in Wildfire Firefighting. They have been on the ground risking their lives to save entire communities and towns. As more states encounter wildland fires growing in intensity and size, many State Defense Forces / State Guards have been taking upon the Wildland Firefighting mission.
