The Georgia State Defense Force recently worked with The Villa Rica Police Department in their Shop With A Cop program. The Shop With A Cop program is a community outreach tradition in which children in need are invited from the local community to be teamed up with Police Officers, Soldiers and Sailors to have a shopping event in their local retailer.
This year the Villa Rica Police Department teamed up with Carroll County Emergency 911 Operators, The Georgia State Defense Force, and United States Navy. These officers, soldiers and sailors were then partnered with children and their families and went on a shopping spree in their local Walmart.
These type of events help build relationships between emergency responders and local communities. They also ensure children in need have a smile this Holiday Season.
Thank you to The Georgia State Defense Force for participating in this event.

We wanted to share some photos of today’s Shop with a Cop. We enjoyed spending time with the children and hope this event brought joy to their lives during the Christmas season. We also want to thank those that helped make this event a success. Ga. State Defense Force, US Navy, Carroll Co. 911 Center, and all of you that donated to make this possible, we are so blessed by your actions. This isn’t just our program, it’s our community’s program. Merry Christmas everyone.
