In the last few years, The Alaska State Defense Force added a new capability, the ability for its troops to locate water sources, purify them and provide this crucial resource to citizens without it. This capability became very useful and important when Western Alaska was ravaged by a Typhoon and most communities lost access to clean drinking water. The Alaska State Defense Force was activated and deployed to these communities, quickly setup their water purification equipment and started providing clean drinking water to thousands.
As natural disasters and severe weather cause severe damage to critical infrastructure such as electrical and water systems, do you believe every State Defense Force should be trained and capable to provide clean drinking water to communities in need?
