As The Twin Towers were attacked by terrorists using commercial passenger airlines as a weapon of mass destruction, New York State quickly activated The Army National Guard, Air National Guard, New York Guard (State Defense Force) and Naval Militia (US Marine Corps & US Navy Reserve Troops) to respond. The article dives into the minutes following the attacks, how each branch responded to the attacks, where they were deployed, the missions they performed, and how many troops took part.
