Soldiers from The 2nd Brigade of The Texas State Guard recently completed a weeklong training event at Camp Mabry. The training focused on Aeromedical transportation, providing en route patient care, as well as staging and reception care at facilities. Now qualified, the troops can teach Tactical Combat Casualty Care to other Soldiers in The Texas Military Department.
This training is very important as The Texas State Guard heavy utilizes such skills during statewide emergencies. Particularly following a major weather event, State Guard troops are counted on to assist stranded citizens and provide medical care to and from medical facilities.
Members of 1st Battalion, 2nd Brigade, Texas State Guard, complete Aeromedical training at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas, joining their fellow guardsmen from all brigades, Feb. 21-26, 2023. All participants are now qualified to teach Tactical Combat Casualty Care, hands only CPR-AED, en route patient care, as well as staging and reception care at the destination for the various Mission Ready Package roles including medical, logistics, administration or Emergency Tracking Network (ETN). This enables these troops to teach brigade members before deployment to be ready to respond to natural disasters and other emergencies. Well done!
