Texas 1st Brigade Undergo RSOI To Ensure All Soldiers Are Ready To Deploy

The Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) ensures all the soldiers meet deployment readiness requirements at all times. The process they have soldiers undergo is Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, Integration (RSOI). The program involves soldiers updating their medical records, updating their height & weight measurements, and completing any and all administrative records that need their attention. So when ordered to Active Duty by The Governor & Adjutant General (Senior National Guard General) they are fully prepared to deploy immediately.

This past February troops from 1st Battalion, 1st Brigade underwent The RSOI process to ensure they are ready for upcoming deployments & training.

In preparedness for Annual Training, OPEVAL 2023, and deployments, 1st Brigade, Texas State Guard conducts Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, Integration (RSOI) at the Texas National Guard Armory, Dallas, Texas, Feb. 25, 2023, to ensure all guardsmen meet readiness requirements. Battalions deployed in intervals to undergo deployment preparation and validation, via administrative and medical stations, to maximize deployment readiness for future missions. (Photos by Cpt. Congratulations to Cpl. Robert Beck in receiving the Commanding General’s Individual Award (CGIA) presented by Cpt. Douglas Coover, Acting Company Commander, Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Brigade, Texas State Guard (TXSG). Per the citation, “Cpl. Beck facilitated advanced training affording the opportunity for TXSG Engineers to participate at a much higher level on deployment during Operation Lone Star (OLS). The training included certification for the operation of heavy equipment used with military engineering. Specifically, this type of engineering was performed in support of OLS land/water/air maneuvers, the spanning of utility and irrigation culverts, road construction for wheeled vehicles, various types of military vehicles, and construction of landing zones for rotorcraft. Beck is commended for laying the foundation for additional Texas Military Department Mission Ready Packages (MRPs) that can be performed by TXSG Engineers.” Very well deserved!
