Governors Guards Flies The Colors At St. Patricks Day Parade

One of the most important parades for The Governors Guards is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. So the force had been prepping for the event by ensuring their troops have all their uniforms squared away. The troops wear the iconic red Grenadier uniform, which is featured below. Along with uniform maintenance the troops underwent Drill & Ceremony (D&C) training to ensure their movements during the parade are crisp and quick. To watch the troops in action scroll to the bottom of the page.

The Foot Guard is also taking applicants for their Spring Basic Training class. So if you’re a resident of Connecticut and wish to serve in the State Military, now’s your chance. You can reach out to The Governors Foot Guard at 1GFG.CTMD@ct.gov .

As we look forward to the warmer months, the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard spent this past drill busy as ever. Our enlisted were fitted for our iconic uniforms, known as the Grenadier uniform. Recruit interviews were started for our Spring class.
The Rifle Company began extended Drill & Ceremony rehearsals for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Preparations commenced for the Change of Command Ceremony in April with a walk thru at the Old State House.
One final interview session remains for the Spring Class the weekend of February 18, and our band recruiting continues on a rolling basis. Contact us today for more information and to sign up for our last interview session!

While the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard First and Second Platoon of Alpha Company spent the day drilling in preparation for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Parade, our Color Guard had the opportunity to present the Colors at the XL Center for Monster Jam and got a sneak peek behind the scenes!
Monster Jam is one of our favorite Color Details to provide, as it is a step out of the scope of what First Company is known for. We have had the privilege of this detail for many years and we always look forward to it.
Find your best shade of green and come out on Saturday, March 11 for the Greater Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade, stepping off at the State Capitol at 11:00 AM.
