The Connecticut Horse Guard, a division of The Governors Guards, recently welcomed new soldiers into their ranks. The First Company Governors Horse Guards is a unit utilized for dedication ceremonies as well as escorting dignitaries during celebratory events. The troops also work side by side with their sister companies of The Connecticut Foot Guard during state emergencies. Horse Guard troops were utilized heavily during The Covid-19 Pandemic setting up mobile field hospitals and assisting The National Guard.
