Georgia Soldiers Undergo Challenging SAR II Course

The Georgia State Defense Force Search And Rescue Specialist II course began last month. The course teaches advanced Search & Rescue (SAR) skill sets that are heavily utilized during SAR missions.  This training marked the soldiers’ second month in a comprehensive five-month advanced program. The course encompassed a combination of classroom instruction and rigorous physical training, including activities such as rappelling. The GSDF soldiers were actively engaged in honing their search and rescue skills to prepare them for real-life emergency situations.

The SAR Specialist II Course provided a well-rounded training experience to the GSDF soldiers, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and physical prowess required for effective search and rescue operations. Classroom instruction covered topics such as search techniques, navigation skills, and emergency medical procedures. Additionally, the soldiers engaged in physical activities that would enhance their agility and readiness in challenging terrains. By actively participating in this course, the GSDF soldiers demonstrated their commitment to serving their community and ensuring they are well-prepared to respond to emergencies and assist in rescue efforts.
