Last week, we highlighted that The New York Guard (State Defense Force) conducted its comprehensive weeklong Annual Training. Impressively, this marked the second occurrence of such a weeklong Annual Training hosted by the State Defense Force this year. Throughout this time, a number of classes were offered, ranging from Officer Candidate School to the fundamental Initial Entry Training (IET – SDF Basic Training). Notably, this year witnessed The New York Guard achieve a significant milestone, boasting one of its most sizable Basic Training cohorts to date, with a commendable graduating class of 56 individuals.
Here’s a glimpse into the recruits’ time in Basic Training which involved invigorating Physical Training (PT) sessions and the recruits mastering the intricacies of Drill & Ceremony. These highlights underscore the recruits’ dedication program, both of which are instrumental in shaping their comprehensive skill set as soldiers.
