2nd Brigade of Texas State Guard Masters TETN Operations for Effective Emergency Response

Members of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, Texas State Guard (State Defense Force), recently underwent specialized training on the Texas Emergency Tracking Network (TETN) at Long Acres Ranch, Richmond, Texas, on September 16th, 2023. Warrant Officer Michael Farley, the Deputy Officer in Charge of Communications for the 2nd Brigade and a TETN Expert, spearheaded the session. With a focus on fostering accuracy and efficiency, Officer Farley diligently instructed the guardsmen on the meticulous process of inputting evacuees into the TETN system. This crucial practice ensures that individuals are accounted for and can be safely returned to their homes following an evacuation or other emergency situations.

The training provided to the 3rd Battalion is paramount, especially considering the unpredictability and frequency of emergencies and natural disasters in the region. The acquired skills will equip the guardsmen to respond adeptly in times of crisis, ensuring that the evacuation process is not only swift but also systematically organized to account for all evacuees. The comprehensive understanding of the TETN system offered by this training will be an invaluable asset to the Texas State Guard, fortifying their capability to safeguard Texas residents during emergencies effectively.
