In Laredo, Texas, the Texas State Guard (State Defense Force), alongside public health agencies and numerous volunteers, has spent the last week delivering free health services as part of Operation Border Health Preparedness. Over the course of a week, this initiative has assisted more than 1,200 patients. This noteworthy achievement has been made possible through the concerted efforts of over 300 military members, 200 state and county employees, and a myriad of volunteers.

In parallel, hundreds of residents from Webb County turned up at Christen Middle School on Monday, eager to benefit from the free health services being offered. This marked the first day of Operation Border Health Preparedness, previously known as Operation Lone Star. Among those lined up was Eduardo Rivera, a mechanic who often experiences issues with his glasses. Taking advantage of the initiative, he joined the event to secure a free pair of glasses.

The Texas State Guard officials have been instrumental in delivering an array of services, including medical, dental, health, and vision, to families in South Texas. The clinic ensures a wide range of services accessible to those in need. Crucially, the organizers have stipulated that participants are not required to provide any proof of insurance or citizenship to avail of the services.

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) – Hundreds of Webb County residents lined up at Christen Middle School Monday morning, all to take advantage of free health services.

Monday was the first day of Operation Border Health Preparedness, formerly known as Operation Lone Star.

Officials from the Texas State Guard were seen providing medical, dental, health and vision services to south Texas Families.

Eduardo Rivera, one of many participants lined up at 5 a.m. to be able to get first dibs on the services.

Rivera says that he’s a mechanic and sometimes his glasses often break, so he took part in the clinic to receive some free glasses.

Now this clinic will continue to go until Friday, July 28 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Organizers say no proof of insurance or citizenship is needed.
