The 1st Brigade of the Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) recently celebrated the induction of new Soldiers and Training Cadre. Firstly, a significant number of soldiers successfully graduated from the Basic Instructors Course (BIC), a program tailored to cultivate cadre specialists entrusted with honing the skills of their fellow soldiers. Following this, the Brigade proudly administered the Oath of Enlistment to a fresh batch of recruits joining the Texas State Guard. These new soldiers will now embark on their Initial Entry Training (IET – State Defense Force Basic Training) to acquaint themselves with the foundational operations of the military. Upon successful completion of their Basic Training, they will be integrated as active members of the 1st Brigade, poised to engage in Active Duty missions.
Relevant and Ready! Congratulations to the training cadre and recent graduates of the Basic Instructors Course (BIC) and Instructor Credential by Endorsement (ICE) conducted at Camp Swift 23 Aug-27 Aug. Both BIC and ICE are designed to address the Texas State Guard’s continuous training needs and ensure a steady cadre of trained, mission-ready professionals.
