Changes to Our Patreon Program Start, A New Day & Future For State Defense Forces Nationwide

We are implementing a few changes to The Patreon Program, the program that keeps this website and its programs running. Our original plan was to remove The $1 Member & $10 Benefactor Tiers to $5 & $20 tiers to keep up with costs to the website and its programs. Here is a list of the programs we run:

  • Post News on StateDefenseForce.com
  • Pay authors to write original State Defense Force articles that cover State Defense Force history and missions
  • Pay website hosting costs to ensure the website stays online
  • Pay domain costs, the service that registers StateDefenseForce.com
  • Maintain The Facebook Group, moderating and reifying new members
  • Updating the FAQ sections
  • Reaching out to State Defense Forces regarding their annual budgets
  • Reachout out to State Defense Forces regarding their new year troop strength
  • Coordinating with State Defense Force & National Guard Public Affairs Offices to setup audio and written interviews
  • Maintain relations with The National Guard in multiple States & National Guard Bureau
  • Startup our new lobbying program
  • and much more…

Due to Patreon policies we cannot adjust the price of The Member $1 and Benefactor $10 tiers, so we decided to keep them but go ahead with a few adjustments. First we changed the name of the Patreon Member tiers it will be as follows:

$ 1 – Private Tier
$ 5 – Corporal Tier
$10 – Sergeant Tier
$20 – Sergeant Major Tier
$50 – Colonel Tier
$100 – General Tier

We wanted to change the name of the tiers to more accurately reflect military ranks.

The $1 Private tier benefits will be migrated to the $5 Corporal Tier, however the Tier 1 will retain one benefit:

  • With your permission, Thanking you by name on our website for your support of StateDefenseForce.com 

The $10 Sergeant Tier will retain most of its benefits except there will be a few changes, the tier will no longer get access to:

  • Questions for Commanders – Since we have contacts with SDF & NG Commanders, we can get answers to questions you have. ie. Are we getting new unit patches? When will the next OCS, BNOC school be? Can we support the NG CERFP Team?
  • 20% off all StateDefenseForce.com Online Store Items will be reduced to 15% off
  • Submit Your Questions to Our Podcast VIP Guests. Members will be able to submit questions to the Commanders & other VIP guests we have on the ‘Morning Briefing’ Podcast. *Due to time constraints not all member questions will be asked.
  • Questions for Commanders – Since we have contacts with SDF & NG Commanders, we can get answers to questions you have. ie. Are we getting new unit patches? When will the next OCS, BNOC school be? Can we support the NG CERFP Team?

But we are adding a new feature to this tier:

  • Exclusive Lobbying Insights: Access a dedicated portal for real-time updates on our D.C. and state-level lobbying efforts, programs, and detailed reports. Stay informed about our advocacy impact with transparent, in-depth coverage. ETA for publication March 2024

We apologize for these changes but we need to encourage members to upgrade their memberships to higher tiers as we begin our lobbying program. We have already hired one lobbyist who is beginning to contact The National Guard Bureau to start making contacts there. Once done we will start advocating for opposition to the drastic uniform changes proposed in the upcoming CNGBI 5500.01 revision, this is the directive that specifies National Guard Interaction with State Defense Forces. We will eventually have to have our lobbyist travel to Washington D.C. to meet with policy makers and provide our opposition to the changes and suggestions on how better to partner State Defense Forces with The US Military on Joint Missions.

  • We will also thank you by name on our website via a pop up on our website so the first item our visitors see is that our website & efforts are made possibly by you
  • State Defense Force Annual Calendar – Perfect for your fridge, showcasing dynamic images of soldiers in action on top, and a detailed monthly view below highlighting key State Defense Force dates and notable actions. A unique blend of inspiration and information! ETA: Mid 2024
  • More Benefits for this tier will be announced in the coming months.
