The Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) and Texas National Guard have been working side by side in multiple capacities in an effort to stem the tide of the Coronavirus. The missions range from assisting medical agencies, handling supply distribution, to engineering.

National Guard Soldiers of the 386th Forward Support Company, Joint Task Force 176 perform a sustainment mission in Corpus Christi, Texas, in support of the COVID-19 pandemic response. This Joint Task Force incorporates service members from all components of TMD.
Members of 2nd Brigade, Texas State Guard, Texas Military Department, assist members of 1st Squadron, 112th Cavalry Regiment, Texas Army National Guard, as part of Joint Task Force 72, with warehouse operations in support of the COVID-19 response in Houston, Texas, April 4, 2020.
