The result is increased exposure, steady recruitment, public awareness, a larger State Defense Force and increase mission capabilities, factors that explain why the Texas State Guard has grown into the largest State Defense Force in the nation, and why others that failed to adapt ultimately remain stagnant, shrunk or faded away.
