Quartermaster Corps Website Launch

New Quartermaster Corps Initiative Aims to Reduce Financial Burdens on State Defense Force Troops

The State Guard & Defense Force Council is proud to announce the launch of a new website and initiative that reflects one of the most important missions we have ever undertaken. The QuartermasterCorps.com website is now live, serving as the foundation for the upcoming launch of The Quartermaster Corps this Spring.

The Quartermaster Program exists specifically to assist State Defense Forces that operate with small or limited budgets and often lack the financial resources to fully supply their soldiers. Across the country, there are some State Defense Forces that function with minimal state funding, which can make it difficult to provide basic necessities such as uniforms, field gear, meals during training, or logistical support during activations. Our mission is to help close those gaps by delivering direct support through funding and essential supplies, feeding troops during weekend drills and annual training, covering travel expenses, equipping new recruits with required uniforms, and sustaining with the supplies they need during emergency state activations. By addressing these financial shortfalls and easing the burden on both units and individual soldiers, we help ensure that limited budgets do not hinder readiness, participation, or the ability of State Defense Forces to serve their communities effectively.

The Quartermaster Corps will focus on three primary areas of support.

Uniform and Essential Gear Support will provide structured assistance for required uniforms, field gear, and baseline equipment necessary for training and state activation readiness. This effort is designed to reduce out-of-pocket burdens for recruits and for units operating under limited budgets. No soldier should feel discouraged from serving because they cannot afford the uniform required to stand in formation.

Training Drill and Activation Meal Support will help coordinate and assist with weekend drill meals, annual training sustenance, and emergency activation supply logistics. We intend to help offset those costs so commanders can focus on readiness instead of worrying about how to provide meals.

Travel Reimbursement assistance will support soldiers who endure significant travel expenses to attend weekend training, annual training, or activation events. For those experiencing financial strain, travel costs can become a serious barrier to continued service. This program is structured to help reduce that strain so those units are fully staffed.

We are establishing The Quartermaster Corps because we know there are soldiers across the country who are experiencing real financial hardship. Some are unable to join their State Defense Force due to the upfront costs of uniforms and travel. Others are forced to leave because those recurring expenses place too much strain on families living paycheck to paycheck. There are even State Defense Forces where soldiers do not receive State Active Duty pay during activation, having to take days or weeks away from their civilian employment without compensation. These sacrifices are significant, and we believe they should not go unsupported.

We understand these struggles, and we want to help.

If your State Defense Force or State Defense Force Association is interested in assisting its soldiers through this initiative, we invite you to visit QuartermasterCorps.com and complete the interest form. Once submitted, we will begin direct communication to understand your unit’s needs and determine how we can provide meaningful support.

The Quartermaster Corps is scheduled to formally launch this Spring following the completion of our 2026–2027 Fundraiser, which will launch in a few weeks. We encourage those who are capable to give so others who are not able to can still serve their country. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations to this program will be tax deductible. Our fundraiser will launch in the coming weeks, and we encourage our supporters and the broader State Defense Force community to stay tuned for details.

This initiative is built on a simple belief: those who volunteer to serve their states and communities deserve support. We will do everything within our capacity to help each and every soldier who needs assistance. It is the least we can do in recognition of the service they provide and the sacrifices they make.
