The Second Company of the Governors Foot Guard recently received firearms training from The Department of Homeland Security (DHS). They provided troops of the Foot Guard basic firearm training that covered clearing techniques, loading & unloading their weapons and basic familiarity with the M4 Rifle. The training was held at the Connecticut Police Academy.
Today was 2nd Co. GFG’s Marksmanship M4 rifle training with a focus was on proper shooting positions (standing, kneeling, seated and prone), zeroing procedures, weapon manipulation and live fire exercises. We also covered clearing techniques, loading and unloading techniques improving our soldiers familiarity with the weapon. A big thank you to all those involved including our instructor from the US Dept Of Homeland Security.
