The 2nd Brigade of the Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) recently held their January Drill weekend in which they packed tons of training. The units trained in the administering of First Aid, CPR, training on POD (Pod Of Distribution) supply points, Search & Rescue operations, as well as focusing on basic soldier skills such as land navigation. The troops did this all in inclement weather in near freezing temperatures.

The troops exemplified the 2nd Brigade motto: “Ad Omnia Parati” (Ready for Anything) by adapting to rain and temperatures in the 30 to 40 degree range during the entire outdoor portion of the exercise.
