The Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) 1st Brigade recently completed their operational evaluation test during their Annual Training session. Troops underwent and certified in land navigation, Search & Recovery, Troop Leadership exercises, swim safety, and a ropes challenge course. These skills are required of Texas State Guard troops as they are tasked with a variety of missions from Search & Recovery, Waterborne Search & Rescue, Shelter Management Operations, to major operations like Operation Lone Star & Operation Drawbridge.
1st Brigade, Texas State Guard completed its annual training and operational evaluation at Tarleton State University honing their readiness to respond to civil support and disaster relief operations for the state of Texas.
