Last month The California National Guard & State Guard (State Defense Force) partnered with multiple civil authorities such as the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, CAL FIRE, Civil Air Patrol, CalTrans, Forest Service, The California Highway Patrol, and even The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), to participate in The Joint All-Hazard Awareness and Assessment Exercise (JAHAAX). JAHAAX is an annual hands-on interagency integrated training with live flights ensuring preparation for all-hazard civil support. The multiagency training exercises tests and evaluates the California National Guard’s Incident Awareness and Assessment (IAA) capabilities. The multi-day event rigorously tested the California Military Department’s capacity to support civil authorities during state emergencies.

Airmen from the California Air National Guard’s 195th Wing provide real-time imagery analysis during the Joint All-Hazard Awareness and Assessment Exercise (JAHAAX) and CMD’s first Air Operations Center (AOC) exercise.
