Poll – Does Your State Defense Force Do Physical Training During Drill?

Physical Training (PT) is essential for soldiers of every military. PT involves soldiers performing push ups, pull ups, sit ups, running as well as other physical activities. It builds strength, endurance, and agility, which are necessary for physically demanding tasks such as marching long distances, carrying heavy equipment, or working in challenging environments. PT also helps build a soldiers mental discipline and prepares them to operate in any challenging environment. Soldiers are able to ‘pull their weight’, thus ensuring they are always ready to serve if and when an emergency arises.
Some State Defense Forces such as The Texas State Guard have their troops undergo PT during their monthly training drills. The question we have for you in this weeks poll is, does your State Defense Force incorporate PT as part of your monthly drills?
  • Yes, our State Defense Force Physically Trains during drill every month
  • Yes, but only once every few drills
  • No, our State Defense Force doesn’t require PT during drill, soldiers are expected to do it on their own time
