On September 22-23, 2023, the Texas Maritime Regiment, a distinguished unit of the Texas State Guard (TXSG), once again demonstrated their unparalleled expertise during a pivotal joint operation at Lake Lavon in Collin County. Collaborating closely with Police & local agencies, members from the 1st Brigade boat and dive teams expertly orchestrated the intricate extraction of two vehicles from the lake’s depths. This endeavor, while challenging, is but a fraction of the vast capabilities that the regiment possesses. Renowned for their swift water and flood water rescues, the TXSG teams have become an invaluable asset to Texas. Their rigorous training and vast experience enable them to not only conduct search and rescue operations efficiently but also to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected by water-related emergencies.
The underwater salvage and recovery arm of the TXSG stands as a testament to their wide-ranging proficiencies. From recovering valuable equipment to assisting in crime scene investigations, their services have proven indispensable in numerous situations. Texas State Guard (TXSG) members from 1st Brigade boat and dive teams and across the state participated in a joint operation with partnering agencies at Lake Lavon in Collin County to lift two vehicles September 22-23, 2023. The Texas State Guard values partnerships with local agencies that enable team building and hone skills to be ready to assist when called. TXSG Boat and dive teams participate in swift water and flood water rescues, equipment recovery and maintenance, provide rescue swimmers, transportation of ground search personnel, crime scene investigation, and waterborne search and rescues.
