For years, the Texas State Guard (State Defense Force) has stood shoulder to shoulder with the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, and National Guard units from across the country in Operation Lone Star, a large-scale mission aimed at securing the Texas-Mexico border. As part of this mission, the Texas State Guard has played a vital role in strengthening border security and ensuring that infrastructure is in place to combat illegal crossings, human trafficking, and drug smuggling.

One of the most critical contributions of the Texas State Guard has been in assisting with the construction of barriers and fencing along the Texas side of the border. Guardsmen have been deployed to clear dense trees and brush, ensuring that pathways are open for the implementation of sophisticated fencing systems. This work is essential in securing the terrain and allowing for the smooth installation of barriers that deter illegal entry.

Beyond land clearing, the Texas State Guard has been instrumental in setting up physical barriers using heavy machinery. Whether it be positioning concrete barriers, rolling out concertina wire, or reinforcing weak points along the border, their efforts have directly contributed to the strengthening of Texas’s security infrastructure. These tasks require technical expertise and logistical coordination, both of which the Texas State Guard has demonstrated time and again.

In addition to their fieldwork, the Texas State Guard has provided crucial surveillance support. Guardsmen actively monitor an extensive network of cameras along the border, tracking the movements of smuggling groups and coordinating with law enforcement and National Guard units to respond to potential threats. This real-time monitoring enhances the ability of security forces to act swiftly and effectively.

The Texas State Guard also operates within the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), supporting mission planning, intelligence gathering, and logistical coordination. Their presence in the EOC ensures that Operation Lone Star runs efficiently, allowing for rapid deployment of resources and personnel in response to evolving threats.
These are just a few of the many roles the Texas State Guard has taken on as part of Operation Lone Star. Their commitment to the mission reflects the dedication and professionalism of State Defense Forces in supporting national security initiatives.
In a recent development, President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of an additional 1,500 active-duty troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to bolster security efforts. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance border security and address ongoing challenges related to illegal immigration and drug trafficking.
StateDefenseForce.com would like to acknowledge and extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible soldiers and airmen of the National Guard and State Guard who are participating in this mission. Their unwavering dedication to protecting our country is a testament to the strength and resilience of those who serve.
