We’re dedicated to keeping you updated on our ongoing work at StateDefenseForce.com—because we’re always moving forward. Here’s a quick breakdown of our latest projects:
Commanders Briefing
- We are in discussions with the Commanding General of the Maryland Defense Force and the Maryland Military Department to host a two-guest podcast featuring the Maryland Defense Force Commanding General, along with either the Adjutant General or Deputy Adjutant General of the state.
- We are also coordinating with the Washington State Military Department to schedule an interview with their Adjutant General. We are closing in on a confirmed date soon.
- Additionally, we are working with the Texas Military Department to bring the new Commanding General of the Texas State Guard, Major General Roger O. Sheridan, onto the show. He will discuss recent trainings, ongoing missions, and his long-term vision for the Texas State Guard. This will most likely be our next scheduled Commanders Briefing, a date and time will be announced soon so you Patreon members can submit your questions to the General.
Scuttlebutt
- We are collaborating with a Senior NCO from a State Defense Force to explore new training initiatives and opportunities within their organization. For now, we are keeping both the individual and their State Defense Force anonymous as they work through the approval process with their chain of command.
2024 Calendar
- Based on your poll feedback, we’ve decided to move forward with developing the 2024 calendar. This time we’re hiring a new contractor to handle its production, and we hope to have it completed and ready to ship by May.
2024 StateDefenseForce.com Magazine
- Thanks to your enthusiastic feedback, we are proceeding with the 2024 magazine! We’ve already brought on a talented new designer for this major project. About half of the content is complete, and we are now working closely with them to finalize the remainder. We’re excited to bring you a publication that highlights key missions, original articles from 2024, and valuable State Defense Force data—such as troop strength—in a beautiful glossy format with striking graphics.
Political Campaigning
- We are still engaging with our contacts in Oklahoma and Arizona to gather updates on the State Defense Force creation bills. However, since both states are deep into their legislative sessions, it has been challenging to secure time with them. Our long-term goal is to hire a full-time staff member dedicated to traveling and coordinating lobbying efforts across multiple states. Unfortunately, we currently lack the funding to make that happen. You can help move us toward this goal by becoming a Patreon member—even $1 a month makes a difference.
StateDefenseForce.com Original Articles
- One article we have in development focuses on “How the California State Guard Became Involved in the Wildfire Firefighting Mission: An In-Depth Analysis of Their Operations.” Our contractor is thoroughly researching all available public data, and we aim to release this article in May.
- We are also proud to have renowned historian Professor Barry M. Stentiford working on another deep-dive article about the Texas State Guard’s support of Operation Lone Star. This piece will offer a detailed look at the Texas State Guard’s mission as part of this large-scale operation. Dr. Stentiford is working closely with the Texas Military Department to provide a comprehensive analysis of the extraordinary work these soldiers are doing at the border.
In the Field
- We are collaborating with the Texas Military Department to obtain approval for our staff to visit the border and report firsthand on the Texas State Guard’s role in Operation Lone Star. If approved, we plan to bring you live coverage of soldiers in action, along with interviews where they share what drives them to serve and be part of this critical mission.
New York Guard Social Media Reactivation
- Our staff has been working to engage the New York Division of Military & Naval Affairs to advocate for reactivating the New York Guard’s Facebook page. Since its shutdown in 2024, we’ve only been able to provide limited coverage of the New York Guard’s trainings and events. We believe reactivating their social media will allow us to bring you much more detailed updates on their ongoing training, missions, and activities.
