Since its inception in 2009, the ‘Young Heroes of the Guard Toy Drive’ has made a substantial impact, amassing an impressive total of over 600,000 toys. These donations have brought joy and hope to numerous children in diverse environments, including schools, hospitals, daycares, and shelters. The soldiers of the Texas State Guard show extraordinary dedication by organizing this extensive toy drive alongside their regular duties, strengthening the ties between the military and the communities they serve. As the holiday season draws near, the Texas State Guard renews its commitment to ensuring that no child goes without a toy. Texas State Guard soldiers from the 1st Brigade collected 859 toys from Ollie’s in Hurst and Grapevine, Texas, to provide toys to women’s shelters, hospitals, schools, and other nonprofit organizations.
Tactical Santa (“Big Red”) recently delivered over 200 toys, plus blankets and socks, to Chisholm Trail for Toys, at historic Socorro Mission, in Socorro.
