Engineers from the Puerto Rico State Guard have recently renovated and remodeled the Commonwealth’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC). They completely modernized the facility installing the latest technology and equipment to have a state of the art EOC. The Emergency Operations Center is a critical facility from which leaders of multiple civil and military agencies coordinate information and allocate resources to support personnel responding to an emergency.
Upon completion the Assistant to the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, (Senior National Guard General), Brigade General (PR) Edrick Ramirez, took a tour of the new facility and inspected all of the modern enhancements of the facility.
The Engineers of the Puerto Rico State Guard are a very active component of the Force. They repeatedly work on multiple projects, such as renovating the National Guard Young Challenge Facility, or repairing & remodeling the San Juan YMCA center.
Brigade General (PR) Edrick Ramirez, Commander of the State Command of the Puerto Rico National Guard represented the Assistant General of the GNPR, Division General Jose J. Kings at the inauguration events of the first Center for Emergency Operations (COE) of the municipality of Loíza. During construction, soldiers from the State Command Engineering Battalion were a key part in the construction and remodeling of these new, modern facilities. We are very grateful to LTC (PR) Juan Santiago, Commander of the Engineering Battalion and all his work team that made this reality possible. We thank the Mayor of Loíza, Hon. Julia Nazario and her work team for allowing us to serve our community, Puerto Rico and the nation.
