The New York Guard (State Defense Force) recently received a visit from the most senior military officer of the New York National Guard, the Adjutant General Raymond Shields. The Adjutant General commands all branches of the New York military forces, the NY Army National Guard, the NY Air National Guard, the NY Guard, and the NY Naval Militia. Major General Shields visited the New York Guard during their 2019 Annual Training visiting soldiers and officers during their classroom training as well as troops training out in the field.
