Tomorrow, the Scuttlebutt podcast returns with a new episode and an important transition in how the show is hosted and led. Episode 11 will be streamed live on YouTube on January 25th at 3:00 PM EST, continuing the podcast’s focus on in-depth, candid discussions surrounding State Defense Forces, their missions, training, and future direction.
This upcoming episode will be hosted by Major (GA–Retired) Beverly Shepard alongside Major General (TX–Retired) Anthony Woods. With decades of combined leadership experience across both the U.S. Army and State Defense Forces, and at both the operational and strategic levels, the two will guide the discussion moving forward. As part of this transition, Jean Marciniak, Director of StateDefenseForce.com, will be focusing more heavily on other ongoing projects and initiatives across the organization while remaining involved behind the scenes.
As with prior Scuttlebutt episodes, the topic for Episode 11 will be chosen directly by the community. A Patreon poll is currently live, allowing supporters and free members alike to vote on which issue the hosts will discuss. The poll includes subjects centered on training standards, mission scope, disaster response, interagency coordination, technology integration, and the evolving role of State Defense Forces nationwide. Community members are also encouraged to suggest additional topics directly in the comments of the poll.
