The Alaska State Defense Force recently had the honor and opportunity to train with the United States Army Green Berets from the Colorado Army National Guard during a Joint Forces Exercise. The exercise, Arctic Eagle-Patriot 2022, is a Joint Task Force exercise which increases the forces capacity to operate in extreme cold weather environment.

U.S. Army Soldiers with the 5/19th Special Forces Group(A), Colorado Army National Guard, conduct reconnaissance training with the Alaska State Defense Force along the Western Alaskan coastline during Exercise Arctic Eagle – Patriot in Nome, Alaska, March 2, 2022. Exercise Arctic Eagle-Patriot 2022 increases the National Guard’s capacity to operate in austere, extreme cold-weather environments across Alaska and the Arctic region.
