The Georgia State Defense Force (GSDF) celebrated as it welcomed 13 soldiers who successfully graduated from the Search & Rescue II course, further strengthening their vital search and rescue (SAR) teams. In times of state emergencies, the GSDF SAR teams work collaboratively with The Army National Guard, providing essential search and rescue capabilities. They are instrumental in locating and assisting citizens who are stranded due to flooding, trapped within their homes, or lost in challenging terrains. Additionally, the SAR teams are frequently called upon by law enforcement agencies to aid in rescuing missing individuals across the state.
