The 88th Area Command of The New York Guard (State Defense Force) recently marched in New York City’s St. Patricks Day Parade. Marked as one of the largest St. Patricks Day celebrations in the world, The New York Guard is invited every year to fly The Colors and join in on the festivities. The 88th Area Command history is based in midtown Manhattan and is descended from The Irish Brigade whose legacy dates back to The Civil War.

The New York Guard marched in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17, 2023. The parade is advertised as one of the oldest and largest St. Patrick Day parades in the world!
