The New York Guard (State Defense Force) recently announced plans to transition from their current uniform the Army Combat Uniform (ACU), to the Operational Combat Pattern (OCP). They join the US Army National Guard, as well as a number of other State Defense Forces, who are currently transitioning to this new uniform pattern.
New York Guard gets a new look
The latest iteration of the New York Guard uniform is similar to the uniform worn by the Army and Air National Guard with black and silver name tape instead of the green and black tape. New York Guard members wear a New York State flag on their sleeve instead of the American flag.
